That this Grace with respect to the Dean
Raphise's Letter to the Governor, and request an explanation.
11 Dov: Street, Dublin,
3rd May 1860:
My Lord Duke,
I beg most respectfully to forward, attached, the copy of a letter sent by me to the Colonial Office, intimating the fact of Mr. Merivale having been transferred to the Indian Department
The mislaying of that letter has led to my not applying in time for an extension of my Leave.
I have felt very anxious lest blame might be attached to me for this delay.
I have the honor to be,
My Lord Duke,
Your Grace's obedient and humble Servant,
A Le Inglis,
Harbor Master & Marine Magistrate
His Grace,
The Duke of Newcastle,
Secretary of State
